EncapX® is an automated, continuous supercritical CO₂ platform for the reproducible and scalable production of nanoliposomes and lipid nanoparticles encapsulating your active ingredients. A patented millifluidic process gives precise control of particle formation, reduces solvent use and eliminates clogging. It serves R&D, preclinical development and industrial manufacturing, with a design compatible with GMP environments.
Whatever the target scale, EncapX® forms the same particles: industrial scale is reached by multiplying the same device, not by redeveloping the process.
Key benefits
Exceptionally uniform particles, with ±3% size variation.
Over 97% encapsulation efficiency.
No clogging, automated production and low operating costs.
Runs at 35 °C, preserving heat-sensitive actives such as enzymes, probiotics and mRNA.
No toxic solvents, no residues, no harmful emissions.
The same process from R&D to industrial scale, with a GMP-compatible design.
No chip or cartridge to replace, and little maintenance. Microfluidic equipment relies on parts that clog and must be changed.
Performance
EncapX® against microfluidics and thin-film hydration, on level of control and scalability.
5-10×
process time reduced
2-4×
operating cost reduced
~1,000×
wider channels than microfluidic ones
Recent DLS characterisation of nanoliposomes produced with EncapX®: main intensity peak at 93.3 nm, PDI 0.151, a single unimodal population with no detectable secondary peak. A PDI around 0.15 indicates a narrow size distribution, critical for reproducibility, colloidal stability and predictable biological performance.
